Pillar 03 — Gather

Around the table, we are one.

Zawadi Connections builds the events infrastructure that turns food into culture and community into movement. The Nomadic Supper is a managed, travelling farm-to-table dinner series. The Eco-Fair at Evergreen Brickworks on October 27 2026 is a public activation. These are not one-off events — they are repeatable, deployable community infrastructure.

Signature Program

The Nomadic Supper.

The Nomadic Supper is Zawadi Connections’ signature community gathering system — a travelling farm-to-table dinner series that moves through Toronto’s neighbourhoods. Each event is built around locally sourced food, storytelling from the farmers who grew it, and a community seated together for the first time. The Nomadic Supper generates earned revenue through ticket sales and sponsorships while building cohesion in Downsview, a City of Toronto priority neighbourhood. Zawadi means gift. The Nomadic Supper is that gift made edible.

Why Gather matters for funders.

Zawadi Connections’ Gather infrastructure addresses City of Toronto Social Development Fund priorities, Ontario Arts Council community programming criteria, and corporate community investment goals. Sponsoring a Nomadic Supper or seasonal farm event places your organization directly inside a community food experience — seen, remembered, and associated with the gift of food.

Seasonal Events

Celebrating the rhythm of the growing season.

Zawadi Connections builds an annual calendar of seasonal farm events at Downsview Park that open the land to Toronto’s broader community. These events are not peripheral to Zawadi’s work — they are how the infrastructure built in the Grow and Learn pillars becomes visible, accessible, and celebrated. The farm becomes a shared resource belonging to everyone.
